Getting started with Flowchester.

Everything you need to install, configure your first rule, and understand what the dashboard is telling you. Under 5 minutes start to finish.

Looking for a click-by-click install walkthrough? Read the setup guide →

1

Install from HubSpot

Flowchester is installed as a HubSpot app from the Marketplace. You'll authenticate with OAuth — no API keys, no manual webhook configuration.

  1. Click Install from HubSpot Marketplace.
  2. Pick the HubSpot account you want to protect. Only one portal per subscription — if you manage several, install separately on each.
  3. Review the permissions Flowchester requests (read/write contacts, read conversations) and approve.
  4. You'll land on the Flowchester billing page. Pick a plan and complete Stripe checkout.

As soon as your subscription is active, default rules start blocking. You don't need to configure anything else to see value.

2

What blocks immediately

The moment your subscription is active, Flowchester blocks contacts that match these patterns without any setup:

  • Noreply addressesnoreply@*, no-reply@*, donotreply@*
  • Bounce repliesmailer-daemon@*, postmaster@*, bounce*@*
  • Common notification sendersnotifications@*, alerts@*, updates@*
  • CC'd thread participants — anyone who landed on a HubSpot email thread only because they were in CC/BCC, not addressed directly.

These rules can't be deleted, but you can disable them individually if you want to let something through.

3

Create your first custom rule

Every portal has its own noise. To block it:

  1. Open the dashboard at app.flowchester.com.
  2. Go to Rules in the sidebar.
  3. Click Add rule. Pick what to match on: domain (e.g. @typeform.com), local part (e.g. accounts-noreply@*), or full pattern.
  4. Save. The rule is live within a few seconds.

Tip: before creating a rule, check the decision log to find recent contacts that you'd want to block. The dashboard shows what it caught and what slipped through — let data, not intuition, drive your rules.

4

Read the decision log

Every block is recorded — email address, which rule matched, when it happened, where the contact came from (form, email, chat, API).

If a block looks wrong, click Un-block. The contact is restored in HubSpot and the log updates to show the reversal. We keep 30 days of history so you can audit decisions later.

5

Change plan or cancel

Go to Billing in the sidebar → Manage subscription. This opens the Stripe customer portal in a new tab. From there you can:

  • Upgrade from Starter to Pro (or back down)
  • Update your payment method
  • Download past invoices
  • Cancel (takes effect at the end of the current billing period)

Cancelling stops new blocks immediately. Your decision log stays accessible for 7 days so you can export it if needed.
